Edmonson, Superintendent News Release – Region 2 January 12, 2011 Lake Charles Man Arrested for Pornography Involving Juveniles LAKE CHARLES – In September 2010, detectives with the Lake Charles Field Office of the Louisiana State Police Bureau of Investigation received information from U.S. Immigration and Custom's Enforcement (ICE) in reference to pornography involving juveniles. Troopers conducted an investigation that revealed 49-year-old Homer Ray Smith Jr. of Lake Charles possessed child pornography and distributed child pornography via the internet. An arrest warrant was obtained by State Police detectives for Smith for pornography involving juveniles. On January 11, 2011, a deputy with the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office stopped Smith in Lake Charles for a traffic offense. Based upon the active warrant, Smith was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Parish Correctional Center for pornography involving juveniles.
