TROOP D NEWS RELEASE March 23, 2018 Crash in Allen Parish Claims the Life of a Rosepine Man ALLEN PARISH — One man is dead following a single-vehicle crash this morning near the community of Mittie in Allen Parish. On March 23, 2018, at 6:30 a.m. Louisiana State Police Troop D responded to a single-vehicle crash involving an 18-wheeler on Louisiana Highway 26 just west of Mittie. The preliminary investigation revealed an 18-wheeler driven by 56-year-old Henry T. Wilson, III was traveling west on LA 26 when, for unknown reasons, the vehicle abruptly veered to the right and struck a tree. Upon impact, the cab became engulfed in flames with Wilson trapped inside. Wilson was pronounced dead at the scene by the Allen Parish Coroner’s Office. The crash remains under investigation. In 2018, Troop D has investigated 6 fatal crashes resulting in 6 deaths. Contact Information: Sgt.
