TROOP D NEWS RELEASE
August 14, 2018
Former Deputy Arrested in Beauregard Parish

BEAUREGARD PARISH — A retired Beauregard Parish Sheriff’s Deputy has been arrested following a State Police investigation.

Troopers assigned to the Louisiana State Police Bureau of Investigation examined the possible mishandling of evidence by a former Beauregard Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division supervisor prior to his retirement in February 2018. During the course of the investigation, it was determined that 56-year-old Saul Wilson of DeRidder illegally removed money orders and U.S. Currency from evidence and deposited the items into his personal bank account while employed at the Beauregard Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators obtained an arrest warrant and on August 13, 2018, arrested Wilson for malfeasance in office and felony theft. Wilson was booked into the Beauregard Parish Jail.

Bond was set at $10,000.
