Baton Rouge Woman Arrested for Numerous Counts
of Insurance Fraud, Forgery, and Theft

East Baton Rouge Parish – Yesterday, the Louisiana State Police Bureau of Investigations Insurance Fraud/Auto Theft Unit arrested 41 year old Baton Rouge resident, Cassandra Bickham, for 3 counts of Insurance Fraud, 27 counts of Forgery, and Theft in the amount of $36,060.00. The arrest was the result of three separate investigations spanning over the last three years. The initial complaint was made to LSP in February of 2015.

Three separate complaints were filed with the Insurance Fraud Unit, each indicating Bickham committed insurance fraud and forgery. One complaint dates back to October 2011 when Bickham filed for short term disability and received benefits totaling $36, 060.00 through June 2014. In support of her disability claim, she submitted numerous altered and forged documents. Another complaint was the result of an alleged vehicle burglary in July 2013, where Bickham claimed $2,175 worth of stereo equipment stolen. During the investigation, it was learned that she submitted fraudulent documentation in support of a vehicle burglary. In April 2014, Bickham again filed an insurance claim for alleged hail damage to her vehicle totaling $4,120.00. The investigation indicated that the damage was not consistent with hail and was found to be made by hand.

A warrant was signed and Bickham was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on April 29, 2015. Bickham’s bond was set at $34,500.00.
