Unrestrained Driver Killed in Livingston Parish Crash

Livingston, LA Shortly before 3:30 am on May 27, 2015, Troopers from Louisiana State Police Troop A began investigating a single vehicle fatality crash that occurred on LA Hwy 42 west of LA Hwy 63 in Livingston Parish. The crash took the life of 29 year old Mark C. Lineske of Holden, LA.

The initial investigation by State Police revealed that the crash occurred as Lineske was driving a 2008 Ford F-150 eastbound on LA Hwy 42. As Lineske entered a left hand curve, the Ford ran off the roadway to the left. After leaving the roadway the vehicle entered a ditch and struck a culvert.

Lineske was unrestrained at the time of the crash and suffered fatal injuries. He was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Livingston Parish Coroner’s Office. Speed and impairment are possible factors in the crash. A toxicology sample was taken from Lineske and submitted to the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab for analysis.

Louisiana State Troopers wish to remind motorists that impaired driving continues to be a major problem throughout Louisiana. Whether impaired through alcohol, drugs, or a combination of the two, the consequences of driving while impaired remain the same. Troopers will continue to work vigilantly in an effort to actively enforce Louisiana’s DWI laws.

Louisiana law requires that all occupants of a motor vehicle be restrained, regardless of seating position. While not all crashes are survivable, statistics show that the chances of surviving a crash rise significantly when properly restrained. Wearing a seat belt greatly reduces the chances of receiving serious injuries in a crash as well.
