TROOP D NEWS RELEASE November 9, 2015 Casino Employee Arrested for Stealing Casino Chips LAKE CHARLES, LA – A dealer at the Isle of Capri Casino was arrested yesterday after he was caught stealing casino chips while at the table. Several weeks ago, the Louisiana State Police Gaming Enforcement Division was contacted by the Isle of Capri Casino in reference to a dealer taking casino chips from the table he was working. After further investigation and a review of video footage from the casino, the suspected dealer was shown taking casino chips and sliding them into his sleeve. On November 8, 2015, 43-year-old Tommy Byrd was arrested for felony theft. At the time of the arrest, Troopers discovered Byrd had $825.00 of casino chips in his possession from that days shift. Byrd was transported and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center. Further charges are pending. No bond was set.
