TROOP D NEWS RELEASE November 22, 2015 Troopers Arrest Dallas Man for Rape VINTON, LA - On November 21, 2015, Troopers assigned to the Louisiana State Police Gaming Enforcement Division received information about a woman who was reportedly raped inside of a horse barn at Delta Downs in Vinton in western Calcasieu Parish. The investigation revealed earlier this week, 32-year-old Canelario Mora-Alvarado of Dallas, Texas, entered a female's room inside one of the barns located on the back side of the horse track. Mora-Alvarado forced the female to have sex with him then left the room when another person began knocking on the door. A witness reported seeing Mora-Alvarado forcibly enter the room before the female began screaming. Later in the week, Mora-Alvarado approached the same female and grabbed her, placing his hand between her legs. During an interview with investigators, Mora-Alvarado admitted to having sex with the victim. Troopers arrested Mora-Alvarado for first degree rape, unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling, and sexual battery. He was booked into the Calcasieu Parish Correctional Center.
