TROOP D NEWS RELEASE October 16, 2015 Troopers Arrest Sulphur Man for Distribution of Child Pornography SULPHUR, LA – A joint investigation between Louisiana State Police and Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) has led to the arrest of a Sulphur man for distribution of child pornography. Earlier this year, investigators with Louisiana State Police and Homeland Security Investigations identified a computer located at a residence in Sulphur that was being used to download and distribute child pornography. An investigation was initiated. On October 15, 2015, investigators served a search warrant at the residence and conducted a preliminary check of the computer. It was determined that 47-year-old Ronald Wayne Harrington was responsible for downloading the child pornography. During questioning, Harrington admitted he downloaded the child pornography. Harrington was arrested for distribution of child pornography and was booked into the Calcasieu Parish Correctional Center. Bond was set at $50,000. The Louisiana Attorney General’s Office and the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office assisted with the investigation.
