TROOP D NEWS RELEASE August 17, 2015 State Police Arrest Houston Man for Using Counterfeit Money at Casino LAKE CHARLES, LA – A Houston resident was arrested this weekend after he was caught using counterfeit money at a Lake Charles area casino. On August 15, 2015, the Louisiana State Police Gaming Enforcement Division was contacted by a Lake Charles area casino in reference to a patron attempting to buy into a table game using counterfeit money. An investigation revealed 27-year-old William Jabour of Houston, TX had already used counterfeit money to play roulette and craps. Additionally, Jabour had multiple counterfeit $100 and $50 bills in his possession and in his vehicle. Troopers placed Jabour under arrest for forty-nine counts of monetary instrument abuse and booked him into the Calcasieu Parish Correctional Center. Bond was set at $100,000. Under Louisiana law, monetary instrument abuse is punishable by a fine of up to $1,000,000 and/or up to 10 years in prison. In addition, the offender is required to make full restitution.
