Lake Charles Casino Employee Arrested for Theft

LAKE CHARLES, LA - A casino employee was arrested today for stealing gaming cheques from a Lake Charles casino.

The Louisiana State Police Gaming Enforcement Division was recently contacted by Golden Nugget Casino in Lake Charles in reference to recent thefts of gaming cheques by a casino employee. The investigation revealed 44-year-old Ron Tran of Houston, Texas, who was employed part-time by the casino as a poker dealer, has been stealing gaming cheques during poker games since the beginning of the month. The aggregate amount of the thefts was approximately $1,000.

Troopers obtained an arrest warrant and on March 24, 2016, Tran was arrested for theft over $750.00 and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center. Bond was set at $2,000.00. The investigation is continuing.

The Louisiana State Police Gaming Enforcement Division, in conjunction with the Louisiana Gaming Control Board, will continue to work to ensure the integrity of gaming activities at Louisiana casinos.
