TROOP D NEWS RELEASE April 28, 2016 Mississippi Man Arrested for Possession of Child Pornography Last year, detectives with the Louisiana State Police Bureau of Investigations initiated an investigation into the sharing of child pornography. As part of the investigation, detectives successfully downloaded files that contained child pornography from a computer in Calcasieu Parish. Through investigation, it was determined the computer was located in a travel trailer located in a recreational vehicle park near Lake Charles. On April 27, 2016, investigators with the Lake Charles field office of the Louisiana State Police Bureau of Investigations as well as Homeland Security Investigations obtained consent to search a travel trailer belonging to 40-year-old Jesse Adam Easterling of Hattiesburg, Mississippi. A preliminary examination of a laptop computer located in the travel trailer revealed Easterling downloaded child pornography onto the device. During questioning, Easterling admitted to authorities that he downloaded illegal child pornography images and video files. Troopers arrested Easterling for pornography involving juveniles and booked him into the Calcasieu Parish Correctional Center. Bond was set at $30,000. If convicted, Easterling faces up to a $50,000 fine and from five to twenty years in prison without benefit of parole, probation, or suspension of sentence. Contact Information: | |||
