| TROOP A NEWS RELEASE November 24, 2016 Baton Rouge Man Dead after Fiery Crash in East Baton Rouge Parish Baton Rouge, LA – Shortly before 5:00 am on November 24, 2016, Troopers from Louisiana State Police Troop A began investigating a single vehicle fatality crash on LA 30 south of Ben Hur Rd. in East Baton Rouge Parish. The crash took the life of 33 year old David Breland III of Baton Rouge, LA. The initial investigation by State Police revealed that the crash occurred as Breland was traveling northbound on LA 30 in a 2015 Honda Civic. For unknown reasons, Breland’s vehicle crossed the southbound lane and ran off the left side of the roadway. The vehicle struck a culvert after leaving the roadway and began to overturn. The vehicle then burst into flames with Breland still inside. Breland sustained fatal injuries in the crash and was pronounced deceased by the East Baton Rouge Parish Coroner’s Office. Due to the severity of the crash, seat belt and alcohol usage is unknown. A toxicology sample will be taken from Breland for analysis. Contact Information: | |||
