Late last year, Louisiana State Police investigators became aware of possible criminal activity involving the sale and use of methamphetamine as well as the trading of methamphetamine for stolen property. Investigators with the Louisiana State Police and the Beauregard Parish Sheriff’s Office initiated an investigation and determined several individuals were participating in criminal activity.

A search warrant was obtained and on July 31, 2015, investigators, with the assistance of the Louisiana State Police SWAT Team and the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries Maritime Special Response Team, served the warrant at a 19-acre compound located at the 200 block of Fowler Road in DeRidder. A mobile home, 3 campers, and 3 sheds were searched at the address.

Investigators discovered approximately 6 grams of methamphetamine, 2 grams of marijuana, a large quantity of drug paraphernalia, 23 long guns, and 4 handguns on the property. The investigation is continuing and additional arrests are possible.

The following individuals (except for McGlothlin who was released on a summons) were arrested and booked into the Beauregard Parish Jail for the charges listed below:

· Leslie R. Self, age 54, Possession of a firearm in presence of narcotics, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of marijuana, possession with the intent to distribute methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia

· Wyatt Self, age 21, Simple criminal damage to property

· Elissa S. McGlothlin, age 28, Possession of drug paraphernalia

· Paul J. Nash, age 51, Possession of drug paraphernalia, outstanding warrant from Vernon Parish Sheriff’s Office for distribution of methamphetamine

· Allan Richmond, age 38, Felony theft

· Shannon C. Cryer, age 53, Possession of methamphetamine, illegal carrying of weapons, possession of drug paraphernalia
