TROOP A NEWS RELEASE April 26, 2015 Unrestrained Driver Killed in Livingston Parish Crash Livingston – Shortly before 11:45 pm on April 25, 2015, Troopers from Louisiana State Police Troop A began investigating a single vehicle fatality crash that occurred on LA Hwy 42 west of LA Hwy 63 in Livingston Parish. The crash took the life of 57 year old Paul D. Dubois of Livingston. The initial investigation by State Police revealed that the crash occurred as Dubois was driving a 1999 Chevrolet Cavalier eastbound on LA Hwy 42. As Dubois entered a left hand curve, the Chevrolet ran off the roadway to the right. After leaving the roadway the vehicle struck a tree. Dubois was unrestrained at the time of the crash. He was partially ejected from the vehicle and suffered fatal injuries as a result. He was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Livingston Parish Coroner’s Office. Impairment is a possible factor, and a toxicology sample was taken from Dubois and submitted to the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab for analysis. Louisiana State Troopers wish to remind motorists that impaired driving continues to be a major problem throughout Louisiana. Whether impaired through alcohol, drugs, or a combination of the two, the consequences of driving while impaired remain the same. Troopers will continue to work vigilantly in an effort to actively enforce Louisiana’s DWI laws. Contact Information: | |||
