Troopers Arrest Texas Woman Who Stole Friend’s Identity

LAKE CHARLES, LA – A Houston woman was arrested this weekend at a local casino after she assumed a friend’s identity to commit fraud.

On Saturday, June 25, 2016, the Louisiana State Police Gaming Enforcement Division was notified of a possible identity theft at a Lake Charles casino. Investigators determined 49-year-old Sieu O. Ke of Houston, Texas, used information she obtained while preparing a friend’s income taxes to assume the victim’s identity and obtain credit form the casino in the victim’s name.

During questioning, Ke admitted to using information obtained while preparing income tax for the victim to open accounts in the victim’s name. Ke opened the accounts completing paperwork using the victim’s identity, address, and personal banking information. Ke defrauded the victim out of $8,000 over two months.

Ke was charged with theft over $1,500, identity theft, forgery, and bank fraud. She is also wanted in Allen Parish for writing over $8,000 in worthless checks.

Ke was booked into the Calcasieu Parish Correctional Center. Bond was set at $25,000. Ke is also awaiting extradition to Allen Parish for a bond hearing there.
