TROOP D NEWS RELEASE January 6, 2017 Traffic Stop Leads to Arrest of Two Texas Residents on Drug Charges CALCASIEU PARISH, LA – Troopers arrested two people from Texas for drug possession last night after a traffic stop on Interstate 10 between Vinton and Sulphur in Calcasieu Parish. On the evening of January 5, 2017, Troopers assigned to Louisiana State Police Troop D stopped a vehicle on I-10 Eastbound about 4 miles east of Vinton for a traffic violation. A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of 50 bottles of promethazine with an estimated street value of $5,000. The driver, 18-year-old Kolby Lena of Pasadena, Texas was charged with improper lane usage and possession of Schedule V narcotics with intent to distribute. His bond was set at $51,500. The passenger, 19-year-old Tremon Washington of Houston, Texas, was charged with possession of Schedule V narcotics with intent to distribute. His bond was set at $50.000.
