L S P Investigations Lead To Multiple Arrests

Houma: The LSP Region I Criminal Investigative Division’s Houma Office has conducted several investigations that resulted in the arrests of numerous individuals involved in illegal criminal activities.

On Tuesday, April 19, 2011, Benjamin Martinez-Correa, a.k.a. Julio C. Mercado (H/M, 34 of Mexico) and Oscar Uliser-Bortillo, a.k.a. Oscar Ruiz (H/M, 27 of Guatemala) were arrested by State Police detectives for possession of fraudulent documents for identification purposes.

The arrest stems from an investigation during a routine vessel boarding at the Port of St. Mary. State Police Detectives were assisting U.S. Customs Border Protection with the boarding of vessels entering from foreign waters. During two of the boarding’s, two Hispanic males working on the vessels were found to be in the United States illegally. Both produced fraudulent identification documents for identification. Martinez-Correa and Uliser-Bortillo were booked at the St. Mary Parish Jail. An immigration hold was placed on Martinez-Correa and Uliser-Bortillo.

Other agencies that participated in the vessel boarding operation were: Homeland Security Investigations, U.S. Border Patrol, U.S. Coast Guard, Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office, Berwick Police Department, and Morgan City Police Department.

On Wednesday, April 27, 2011, Blake Falcon (W/M, 30 of Thibodaux, LA) was arrested by State Police narcotics agents when it was learned that he was fugitive of Assumption Parish. Falcon had a warrant for theft over $500.00. State Police narcotic agents were also investigating the possibility of a methamphetamine lab being operated at Falcon’s residence, 127 Constant Drive, Thibodaux, LA. Falcon was booked at the Lafourche Parish Detention Center waiting extradition to Assumption Parish.

On Wednesday, April 27, 2011, Joseph St. Pierre (W/M, 47 of Cut Off, LA) was arrested by State Police detectives after the execution of a search warrant at his residence, 513 West 13th Street, Cut Off, LA located in Lafourche Parish. St. Pierre is accused of committing the crime of possession of child pornography.

The search warrant stemmed from an investigation into the sharing and downloading of child pornography. The search resulted in the seizure of a laptop computer containing hundreds of images and videos of child pornography. St. Pierre was arrested and booked at the Lafourche Parish Detention Center. Bond was set at $50,000.00.
