Edmonson, Superintendent TROOP C- NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release May 2, 2011 Fatal Crash Claims The Life Of A Gonzales Man Assumption- On Monday, May 2, 2011, at approximately 6:01a.m., Louisiana State Police Troop C investigated a fatal crash on LA 70 east of LA 70 Spur in Assumption Parish. Bradley Washington (B/M, 45 of Gonzales, LA) was operating a 1998 Chevrolet Corvette westbound on LA 70. For unknown reasons, Washington failed to negotiate a right banking curve and ran off of the roadway to the left into a cane field and overturned several times ejecting Washington. Washington was not wearing his seat belt and received fatal injuries. Washington was pronounced dead at the scene by the Assumption Parish Coroner’s Office. Alcohol and/or drug usage is unknown pending toxicology results from the Assumption Parish Coroner’s Office. Troopers are continuing their investigation. Most fatalities are involving unrestrained drivers and occupants. Louisiana law requires ALL occupants in the vehicle to be properly restrained. Remember, PLEASE BUCKLE UP.
