Edmonson, Superintendent TROOP C- NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release Date: May 11, 2011 *UPDATE* On Tuesday, May 10, 2011, at approximately 7:28 p.m., Louisiana State Police Region I Criminal Investigative Division’s Houma Office and Louisiana State Police Troop C executed an arrest warrant on Christopher Britt at his residence, 700 Ledet Drive in Thibodaux, LA. After further investigation, it was learned that Britt was driving the 2009 Honda Civic the morning of the crash that killed Holly A. Naquin in Lafourche Parish. Britt is charged with Vehicular Homicide, DWI 2nd Offense, and Improper Lane Usage. Britt was booked at the Lafourche Parish Detention Center and a bond was set at $277,500.00. Fatal Crash Claims The Life of A Thibodaux Woman Thibodaux – On Sunday, February 20, 2011, at approximately 1:07 a.m., Louisiana State Police Troop C investigated a single vehicle crash on Burma Rd. south of Martinez Rd. in Lafourche Parish. The Crash claimed the life of a Thibodaux woman. Holly A. Naquin (W/F, 34 of Thibodaux, LA) was operating a 2009 Honda Civic northbound on Burma Rd. in Thibodaux, LA. Naquin failed to negotiate a right bank curve and ran off of the roadway to the left. Naquin’s vehicle struck a bridge guardrail and overturned becoming partially submerged in a drainage canal. Naquin and right front seat passenger, Christopher Britt (W/M, 27 of Thibodaux, LA) were transported to Thibodaux Regional Medical Center with serious injuries. Naquin later died from injuries received in the crash. Seat belts were worn by Naquin and Britt. Fog may have been a partial factor in the crash. Alcohol and/or drug usage is unknown. Blood was drawn as per state law and toxicology results are pending from the Lafourche Parish Coroner’s Office. Troopers are continuing their investigation. Contact Information: | |||
