Edmonson, Superintendent TROOP C- NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release Date: March 25, 2011 L S P– C Arrested A Raceland Man For Speeding and Texting Lafourche: On Tuesday, March 22, 2011, Louisiana State Police Troop C arrested a Raceland man for speeding and texting. On Tuesday, March 22, 2011, Dylan Fournier (W/M, 20 of Raceland, LA) was observed and clocked operating a motorcycle at 101 mph in a 55 mph zone. Fournier was southbound on LA 308 north of Lafourche Crossing in Thibodaux, LA. Fournier refused to stop and began passing other vehicles in no passing zones, causing northbound vehicles to take evasive action too avoid. Continuing to operate at a high rate of speed, Fournier began texting while driving in a reckless manner. Fournier finally pulled over and surrendered at Robichaux Lumber on LA 308 in Raceland, LA. Fournier was arrested by State Police for the following traffic offenses: Speeding (101 mph in a 55 mph zone), Aggravated Flight from an Officer, Reckless Operation, and Texting While Driving. Fournier was transported and booked at the Lafourche Parish Detention Center in Thibodaux, LA.
