Edmonson, Superintendent TROOP C NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release April 7, 2011 DWI Checkpoint to be held in Terrebonne Parish Louisiana State Police Troop C will conduct a DWI Checkpoint, Thursday, April 7, 2011, in Terrebonne Parish. The Sobriety Checkpoint will begin at approximately 7:00 pm and will be manned by Louisiana State Police Troop C and the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office. Every year on the highways across the state of Louisiana, numerous people are killed or injured by impaired drivers. Sobriety checkpoints are an effective enforcement tool serving as a deterrent to impaired drivers. The task of stopping these impaired drivers is a joint effort between the law enforcement agencies and the public. Never allow an impaired driver to get behind the wheel of a vehicle. Report dangerous drivers to law enforcement, and play an important role in the reduction of crashes caused by impaired drivers. Remember, the only designated driver is the person who is NOT IMPAIRED.
