Fatal Crash Claims The Life Of A Houma Man

Terrebonne- On Tuesday, May 31, 2011, at approximately 8:58 p.m., Louisiana State Police Troop C investigated a fatal crash on Enterprise Drive at LA 3040 in Terrebonne Parish.

Blaine Faucheaux (W/M, 47 of Houma) was operating a 2004 Harley Davidson motorcycle westbound on Enterprise Drive and due to driver error, struck the curb of the median in the intersection at LA 3040. The motorcycle began to overturn ejecting Faucheaux from the motorcycle.

Faucheaux was transported to Terrebonne General Medical Center where he later died from injuries received in the crash.

Faucheaux was wearing an approved D.O.T. helmet.

Alcohol and/or drug usage is unknown, but blood was drawn as per state law and toxicology results are pending from the Terrebonne Parish Coroner’s Office. Troopers are continuing their investigation.

Safety Tips For Riders:

1) Rider Education: Take a motorcycle safety course before operating a motorcycle. Learning how to properly handle a motorcycle is the key to being able to handle the motorcycle properly in a crisis.

2) Be a Safe Rider: To be a safe rider, you must know your motorcycle extremely well. A motorcycle is very different from a car and makes more demands on the operator.
