TROOP C- NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release Date: October 23, 2011 Fatal Crash Claims The Life Of Two From Thibodaux Terrebonne – On October 22, 2011, at approximately 10:26 p.m., Troop C investigated a single vehicle crash on LA 24 (north) near Recreation Bridge in Gray, LA. The crash claimed the life of a male and female from Thibodaux, LA. Danny Young (B/M, 34, of Thibodaux, LA) was operating a 2003 Mercury Marquis northbound on LA 24 (north) near the Recreation Bridge. Young failed to negotiate a left bank curve, ran off of the roadway to the right and struck a large tree. Young and his right front passenger, Maria Harry (B/F, 28, of Thibodaux, LA) received fatal injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene by the Terrebonne Parish Coroner’s Office. Seat belts were not used by the occupants. Alcohol and/or drug involvement is unknown. Blood results are pending from the Terrebonne Parish Coroner’s Office. Troopers are continuing their investigation. Safety Tip: Remember always wear your seat belt!! Louisiana law requires EVERYONE to be properly restrained in a vehicle.
