L S P Investigation Leads To Several Arrests

LSP BOI Region I: The LSP Region I Criminal Investigative Division’s Houma Office conducted several investigations that resulted in the arrests of numerous individuals involved in illegal activities.

Friday, July 29, 2011, Elizabeth P. Dupre (W/F, 43, of Houma, LA) and Bryan J. Bruno (W/M, 35, of Kenner, LA) were arrested by State Police detectives on warrants for forgery and filing or maintaining false public records. The arrest stems from an investigation conducted by the Louisiana State Police Criminal Investigative Division’s Houma Office. A complaint was received from a Louisiana State Police Investigator from the Baton Rouge Office alleging the possibility of fraudulent practices at Kenworth of South Louisiana, L.L.C. Investigators suspected one or more persons employed at Kenworth of South Louisiana, L.L.C. had submitted
rescinded sales documents to the Louisiana Department of Motor Vehicles in Baton Rouge, LA. At the completion of the investigation, it was determined that Bruno, a salesman and Dupre, a clerk had forged documents regarding the sale of a Kenworth truck and submitted those documents to the Office of Motor Vehicles. Dupre was charged with forgery and filing or maintaining false public records and Bruno was charged with principal to forgery and principal to filing or maintaining false public records.

Friday, August 12, 2011, Holly G. Calva (W/F, 40, of Houma, LA) was arrested by LSP Region I Criminal Investigative Division’s Houma Office with the assistance of Homeland Security Investigative Division’s Houma Office. In December of 2009, state police began an investigation into the large number of illegal immigrants obtaining Louisiana identification cards. The investigation revealed that Calva was providing fraudulent documents to individuals who were in the United States illegally and would assist them in obtaining Louisiana I.D.’s from the Office of Motor Vehicles. This illegal activity had occurred in St. Mary Parish and State Police detectives were able to identify 402 I.D. cards that Clava had assisted in obtaining by using fraudulent documents. It was revealed that Calva was charging $400.00 per I.D. Clava was arrested at her residence in Houma, LA and booked at the Terrebonne Parish Criminal Justice Complex as a fugitive from St. Mary Parish. Calva was booked on the following charges: Unlawful production, manufacturing, distribution, or possession of fraudulent documents for identification purposes and filing or maintaining false public records. Calva was also served with target letter notifying her of the Federal Investigation.
