TROOP C- NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release Date: August 15, 2011 Fatal Crash Claims The Life Of A Morgan City Man Lafourche-On Monday, August 15, 2011, at approximately 7:34 a.m., Louisiana State Police Troop C investigated a fatal crash on LA 182 near the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office gun range in Raceland, LA. Lee Lecamu (W/M, 56 of Morgan City, LA), was operating a 2009 Ford Ranger eastbound on LA 182 and for unknown reasons, was traveling in the inside westbound lane of LA 182. Lecamu struck a westbound 2009 Buick Enclave head-on being driven by Tina Rivet (W/F, 53 of Raceland, LA). A 1997 Nissan Maxima being driven by Ireon Simmons (W/F, 27, of Ama, LA) was westbound and received damage from debris from the initial impact of Lecamu and Rivet. Rivet received serious injuries and was transported to Thibodaux Regional Medical Center. Simmons received minor injuries and was transported to Ochsner St. Ann Hospital in Raceland. LA. Lecamu received fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Lafourche Parish Coroner’s Office. All drivers were properly restrained. Alcohol and/or drug usage is unknown. Blood was drawn as per state law and toxicology results are pending from the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab and the Lafourche Parish Coroner’s Office. Troopers are continuing their investigation.
