Mississippi Man Arrested for Computer Aided Solicitation of a Minor

Houma: On Tuesday, June 21, 2011, Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics served an arrest warrant on William H. Britt (W/M, 53 of Brandon, MS). Britt is accused of computer aided solicitation of a minor and indecent behavior with a juvenile.

Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics executed the arrest warrant on Britt at his residence in Brandon, MS. Britt was booked at the Rankin County Jail and was extradited to Terrebonne Parish. A bond of $10,000.00 was set.

The arrest stems from the program Operation Child Watch. LSP Region I Criminal Investigative Division’s Houma Office conducted undercover operations targeting persons intending to contact children on the internet and engaging them in sexually explicit communication. During such operation, Britt engaged in sexually explicit conversation and sent nude photographs of himself to an undercover trooper posing as a 14 year old female.

The mission of Operation Child Watch is to rescue children from the hands of abusers, to
proactively investigate cases involving the sexual abuse of children, and educate parents on the dangers of the internet.
