L S P Investigations Lead To Multiple Arrests
Houma: The LSP Region I Criminal Investigative Division’s Houma Office has conducted several investigations that resulted in the arrests of numerous individuals involved in illegal criminal activities.
On Wednesday, June 29, 2011, Decci Suguhey Garcia-Fragazo (H/F, 31, of Houma, LA) and Bertha Ortega-Martinez (H/F, 36, of Houma, LA) were arrested by State Police detectives for possession of fraudulent documents for identification purposes. Christian A. Minjarez (H/M, 21, of Los Angeles, California) was also arrested by State Police detectives for outstanding warrants in Lafourche and Terrebonne Parishes.
The arrest stems from an investigation during an inspection of a business that had hired several illegal immigrants. State Police Detectives were assisting Homeland Security Investigators with the inspection. During the inspection the two Hispanic females employed at the business possessed fraudulent documents for identification and were found to be in the United States illegally. It was also learned the Hispanic male who was also employed at the business had outstanding warrants in Lafourche and Terrebonne Parishes. All three were booked at the Terrebonne Parish Jail. No bonds were set and immigration has placed holds on Garcia-Fragazo and Ortega-Martinez.
On Thursday, July 30, 2011, Justin Charles (B/M, 33, of Gonzales, LA) was arrested by State Police detectives on a warrant for the following charges: identity theft, forgery, filing or maintaining false public records, and bank fraud.
The arrest stems from an investigation for identity theft, in which Justin Charles took the identity of his twin brother, Javar L. Charles. Justin Charles used his brother’s identity to obtain a Louisiana I.D., Louisiana Commercial Drivers License, and open a checking account. Charles was located and booked at the Ascension Parish Jail as fugitive out of Lafourche Parish and awaits extradition to Lafourche Parish. No bond was set.
On Wednesday, July 6, 2011, Brandon Catlett (W/M, 20, of Thibodaux, LA) was located at the St. James Parish Jail and was arrested by State Police narcotics agents on a warrant for distribution of marijuana. A hold was put for Lafourche Parish.
On Friday, July 8, 2011, Brandon Arcement (W/M, 18, of Thibodaux, LA) and Roni Bergeron (W/M, 19, of Thibodaux, LA) were arrested by State Police narcotics agents on warrants for distribution of marijuana at 2404 and 2410 Karen Drive in Thibodaux, LA. Both were booked at Lafourche Parish Detention Center. A bond of $5,000.00 was set on both Arcement and Bergeron.
Additionally, Justin Samanie (W/M, 19, of Schriever, LA) was arrested on warrants for distribution of marijuana and distribution of cocaine. Samanie was booked at the Lafourche Parish Detention Center. A bond of $10,000.00 was set.
