Date: March 5, 2011 LSP Investigations Lead To Multiple Arrest In Tri-Parish Area
Houma: The Louisiana State Police Region I Criminal Investigative Division’s Houma Office conducted two investigations resulting in the arrest of two individuals involved in criminal activity.
On Thursday, March 3, 2011, LSP Region II Criminal Investigative Division’s Lafayette Office served an arrest warrant on Arty J. Segura (W/M, 38 of New Iberia, LA). Segura is accused of committing crimes of computer aided solicitation with a minor, indecent behavior with a juvenile and attempted possession of child pornography. Segura was booked at the Iberia Parish Jail and is awaiting extradition to Terrebonne Parish. A bond of $50,000.00 was set.
The arrest stems from the program Operation Child Watch. LSP Region I Criminal Investigative Division’s Houma office conducted undercover operations targeting persons intending to contact children on the internet and engaging them in sexually explicit communication. During such operation, Segura engaged in sexually explicit conversation with an undercover trooper posing as a 14 year old female.
On Thursday, March 3, 2011, LSP Region I Criminal Investigative Division’s Houma Office served an arrest warrant on Brad J. Marcel (W/M, 31 of Houma, LA). Marcel is accused of committing crimes of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, a schedule II control dangerous substance (4 grams), possession of xanax, a schedule IV control dangerous substance (26 pills), and possession of a firearm in the presence of narcotics (.38 cal. revolver and .20 gauge shotgun). Marcel also had outstanding warrants out of Lafourche Parish (failure to pay child support) and Terrebonne Parish (simple assault and simple battery). Marcel was booked at the Lafourche Parish Detention Center with no bond.
