Edmonson, Superintendent TROOP C- NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release Date: November 4, 2010 Laplace Man Arrested for Theft in the Amount of $404,167.00 Troop C – On November 1, 2010, Louisiana State Troopers assigned to the Bureau of Investigations, Criminal Investigations Division arrested Michael E. Hebert (W/M, age 40) of Laplace, LA on charges of Felony Theft in the amount of $404,167.00. The arrest was the result of an investigation that began in April 2009. Troopers found that Hebert was employed with Tire Centers Incorporated (TCI) in Houma, LA from June 2004 through January 2006. During this period, Hebert also owned Bayou Truck Tire Sales. While Hebert was employed with TCI, he would order inventory for TCI then divert extra inventory to his company, Bayou Truck Tire Sales. Through a series of fraudulent code entries and inventory manipulation, Hebert was able to divert approximately $404, 167.00 worth of TCI inventory to Bayou Truck Tire Sales. Hebert was arrested and booked into the Terrebonne Parish Jail and a bond was set at $50,000.00.
