Edmonson, Superintendent TROOP C- NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release Date: November 27, 2010 UPDATE On Saturday, November 27, 2010, at approximately 3:34 a.m., Ashley Thibodaux (W/F, 16 of Larose, LA.) died at University Hospital in New Orleans due to injuries sustained in the crash. Single Vehicle Crash In Larose Leaves A Teen In Critical Condition Lafourche – On Friday, November 26, 2010, at approximately 6:19 p.m., Troop C investigated a single vehicle crash on LA 3235 at its intersection with LA 24 in Lafourche Parish. The crash left a female teenager from Larose, LA. in critical condition. Patrick Hebert Jr. (W/M, 22 of Galliano, LA) was operating a 1998 Honda Civic northbound on LA 3235 and failed to stop at the stop sign at LA 24. Hebert’s vehicle crossed LA 24 and impacted with a ditch embankment. Hebert received minor injuries; Right-front passenger, Toby Cheramie (W/M, 21 of Larose, LA.) received moderate injuries; Left-rear passenger, (W/F, 16 of Cut Off, LA.) received moderate injuries; Middle-rear passenger, (W/F, 16 of Larose, LA.) was ejected from the vehicle and received Critical injuries; and Left-rear passenger (W/F, 15 of Galliano, LA.) received moderate injuries. Seat belts were not used by any of the occupants in Hebert’s vehicle. Occupants were transported to area hospitals by Acadian and Lafourche Ambulance Services. The critical injured sixteen-year-old was later transferred to University Hospital in New Orleans, LA. Speed appears to be a factor in the crash. The involvement of alcohol and/or drugs usage is unknown. Blood was drawn as per state law and toxicology results are pending from the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab.
