Edmonson, Superintendent TROOP C- NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release November 27, 2010 Fatal Crash Claims The Life Of Abita Springs Man Lafourche- On Saturday, November 27, 2010, at approximately 8:12 p.m., Louisiana State Police Troop C investigated a fatal crash on US 90 west of the Des Allemands overpass in Lafourche Parish. Blake Kenworthey (W/M, 20 of Abita Springs, LA) was operating a 1999 Ford Explorer westbound on US 90 in the outside lane. For unknown reasons, Kenworthey failed to negotiate a left banking curve and ran off roadway to the left into the median and overturned ejecting Kenworthey. Kenworthey was not wearing his seat belt and received fatal injuries. Kenworthey was pronounced dead at the scene by the Lafourche Parish Coroner’s Office. Alcohol and/or drug usage is unknown pending toxicology results from the Lafourche Parish Coroner’s Office. Troopers are continuing their investigation. Louisiana law requires all occupants in the vehicle to be properly restrained. PLEASE BUCKLE UP.
