Edmonson, Superintendent TROOP C- NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release Date: October 22, 2010 Fatal Crash On LA 308 In Lafourche Parish Claims The Life Of A Seventeen –Year-Old Lockport – On Friday, October 22, 2010 at 7:18 p.m., a crash on LA 308 at McCloud Rd. in Lafourche Parish claims the life of a seventeen-year-old from Cut Off, LA. An unlicensed driver (W/F, 15 of Cut Off, LA) was operating a 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier northbound on LA 308 in Lockport, LA. The unlicensed driver for unknown reasons, failed to negotiate a left bank curve, ran off of the northbound lane, over corrected, and ran off of the northbound lane for a second time striking a utility pole. The unlicensed driver was wearing a seat belt and received moderate injuries. Right-front seat passenger, Edward Domangue (W/M, 17 of Cut Off, LA.) was wearing a seat belt and received fatal injuries. Both driver and passenger were transported to Ochsner St. Anne hospital by Acadian Ambulance. Alcohol and drug use is not suspected; however, blood was drawn as per state law and results are pending from the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab. Chargers are pending and Troopers are continuing their investigation of the crash.
