Edmonson, Superintendent TROOP C- NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release Date: February 5, 2011 Single Vehicle Crash In Thibodaux Claims The Life Of A Thibodaux Man Lafourche – On Saturday, February 05, 2011, at approximately 7:14 a.m., Troop C investigated a single vehicle crash on Menard Street at its intersection with Audubon Avenue in Lafourche Parish. The crash claimed the life of a Thibodaux man. Joseph M. Suitt (W/M, 30 of Thibodaux, LA) was operating a 2007 Hyundai Tucson southbound on Menard Street and failed to stop at the stop sign at Audubon Avenue. Suitt’s vehicle crossed Audubon Avenue and impacted with the Historical Research Center Building located on campus of Nicholls State University. Suitt was transported to Thibodaux Regional Medical Center and was pronounced dead from injuries he received in the crash. Suitt was not wearing his seat belt. The involvement of alcohol and/or drug usage is unknown. Blood was drawn as per state law and toxicology results are pending from the Lafourche Parish Coroner’s Office.
