L S P Traffic Stop Leads To The Narcotic Arrest Of A Violet, LA Man
Houma: The Louisiana State Police Troop C with the assistance of Region I Criminal Investigative Division’s Houma Office arrested a man from Violet, LA on narcotics charges, following a traffic stop on US 90 in Terrebonne Parish.
On Saturday, February 12, 2011, Louisiana State Police Troop C conducted a traffic stop on US 90 in Terrebonne Parish. Calvin Brown (B/M, 51 of Violet, LA) was operating a 2010 Toyota and was stopped for following too close. During the course of the stop, a search was performed and 836 dosage units or 1.5 pounds of Hydrocodone, a Schedule III Controlled Dangerous Substance was discovered in the trunk of Brown’s vehicle. This has a street value of approximately $5,852.00. Brown was charged with Following too Close, Driving with a Suspended Drivers License, and Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule III Controlled Dangerous Substance. Brown was booked at the Terrebonne Parish Criminal Justice Complex. A bond was set at $50,000.00.
