Edmonson, Superintendent TROOP C- NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release Date: December 21, 2010 Mother and Son Arrested for Counterfeiting Thibodaux: On Monday, December 20, 2010, LSP Region I Criminal Investigative Division, Houma office, the U.S. Office of Homeland and Security Division, Houma office, and the Thibodaux Police Department arrested Gail Bartholomew (B/F, 47 of Thibodaux, LA) and Gerard Kennedy (B/M, 26 of Thibodaux, LA). Both are accused of committing the crime of Illegal use of counterfeit trademark, sound reproductions without consent, recording of performances without consent, and improper labeled articles. On June 17, 2010, LSP Region I Criminal Investigative Division and the U.S Office of Homeland Security began a joint investigation into the business of G-Money’s Hip-Hop Clothing and Electronics, LLC located at the address of 961 St. Charles Street in Thibodaux, LA. This investigation was regarding the distribution of counterfeit and pirated goods. On December 20, 2010, a search warrant was served and hundreds of counterfeit items were seized, including a Systor 12 disc burner and a Dell laptop computer. The laptop contained software that could break through anti-pirating protection that is put on music and movies. Bartholomew and Kennedy were arrested and booked at the Lafourche Parish Detention Center. Both bonds were set at $20,000.00.
