TROOP C - NEWS RELEASE August 7, 2013 **UPDATE** Suspect Arrested in Florida from 2011 Hit and Run Fatality Crash in Lafourche Parish On August 3rd, 2013, Edward Farbe was arrested in Duval County Florida (Jacksonville), on unrelated charges, after a two year long investigation. Fabre attempted to use an alias during his arrest, but during the booking process authorities discovered his real identity and learned of the warrants related to the 2011 fatality crash in Lafourche Parish. Arrangements are being made in order to extradite Fabre back to Lafourche Parish for the charges of Negligent Homicide, Negligent Injuring, Hit & Run Driving and Failure to Yield While Turning Left. Galliano – On August 27, 2011, at approximately 3:08 p.m., Troop C investigated a critical Hit and Run crash on LA 3235 at the Wal-Mart in Galliano, LA. The crash involved two vehicles and left three occupants with injuries ranging from minor to critical. Edward P. Farbe (I/M, 26 of Larose, LA) was operating a 1997 Chevrolet Silverado southbound on LA 3235 attempting to make a left turn at a median opening at the Wal-Mart in Galliano, LA. Farbe failed to yield and made a left turn into the path of a northbound 2007 Dodge Ram, driven by Peter Crifasi (W/M, 43 of Baton Rouge, LA). Farbe left the scene of the crash on foot and was last seen in the Wal-Mart parking lot area.
