TROOP C - NEWS RELEASE July 11, 2013 Driver Later Dies at Hospital from Injuries Sustained in Crash Gray, LA- Shortly after 12 AM this morning, Louisiana State Police Troop C investigated a two vehicle crash on LA 316 in Lafourche Parish where a man later died at University Hospital from his injuries sustained in the crash. The investigation revealed that a 1997 Ford Taurus was traveling north on LA 316 by the Bayou Blue Bypass Road. The Taurus was being driven by Jeremy Duet (W/M age 22) of Gray, LA. A 2008 Nissan Titan was traveling south on LA 316 approaching the Taurus. The Titan was being driven by Edmond Gros (B/M age 32) of Vacherie, LA. For unknown reasons, the Taurus traveled off the right side of the road as it entered a left hand curve on LA 316. Duet over corrected as he attempted to re-enter LA 316. The Taurus began to rotate counter clockwise across LA 316 and crossed the center line where it was struck broadside by the Titan. Duet, who was wearing a seat belt, was transported to University Hospital in New Orleans where he later died from his injuries. Gros, who was wearing a seat belt, received minor injuries in the crash. Gros, who submitted to a breath test, was cleared of any alcohol involvement. This crash remains under investigation.
