TROOP C - NEWS RELEASE April 1, 2012 Two Teens Killed In Fourchon Around 5:20 AM, Louisiana State Police Troop C investigated a fatality crash on LA 1 at LA 3090 in Fourchon, LA, where two teens were killed from their injuries. The investigation revealed that a 2000 Lexus 300 was traveling northbound on LA 1 approaching LA 3090. The Lexus was being driven by Taylor Caro (White/Male, age 19) of Houma, LA. As the Lexus traveled north on LA 1 it failed to stop at a stop sign and entered the LA 3090 intersection. The Lexus was struck on the driver’s side by a 2003 Peterbilt (eighteen wheeler) being driven by Luis Contreras (White/Male, age 68) of Amelia, LA. Caro, who was not wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash, was pronounced dead on the scene by the Lafourche Parish Coroner’s Office. Alexandra Blaisdell (White/Female, age 18), who was a passenger in Caro’s Lexus, was also pronounced dead on the scene by the Lafourche Parish Coroner’s Office. Blaisdell was wearing her seat belt at the time of the crash. Contreras, who was wearing a seat belt, did not receive any injuries in the crash. Alcohol use is unknown at this time and routine toxicology tests are pending. This crash remains under investigation. | |||
