TROOP C - NEWS RELEASE August 6, 2012 Motorcyclist From LA 307 Crash Dies At Hospital Shortly before 8 PM last Wednesday, Louisiana State Police Troop C investigated a single vehicle crash on LA 307 in Lafourche Parish where a man was ejected from his motorcycle and later died at University Hospital in New Orleans. The investigation revealed that a 2011 Yamaha YZFR 1000 motorcycle was traveling north on LA 307 around mile post 13. The motorcycle was being driven by Kade Levron, (W/M age 25) of Houma, LA. The motorcycle failed to negotiate a right curve and traveled off the road to the left. When the motorcycle struck a tree, Levron was ejected from the motorcycle. Levron, who was wearing a US D.O.T. helmet, was transported to St. Anne Hospital in Raceland. Because of the severity of his injuries, he was transported to University Hospital in New Orleans. Levron died over the weekend after being taken off life support. Speed may have been factor in the crash. Alcohol use is not suspected at this time. Blood was taken from Levron and the test results will be pending at the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab. This crash remains under investigation. Motorists that witness hazardous situations are urged to call *LSP (*577) and report that activity to the Louisiana State Police. | |||
