Edmonson, Superintendent TROOP C- NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release Date: September 24, 2010 Fatal Crash On LA 3127 In St. John Parish Claims The Lives Of Two St. John Parish – On Friday, September 24, 2010 at 5:18 a.m., a crash on LA 3127 in St. John Parish claims the life of two from Plaquemine, LA. Colby Landry (W/M, 21 of Pierre Part, LA) was operating a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado southbound on LA 3127 in Wallace, LA. Landry was attempting to pass a southbound vehicle when for unknown reasons, lost control running off of the northbound lane. Landry over corrected, and his vehicle began to rotate counter clockwise running off of the southbound lane. Landry’s vehicle struck an unoccupied vehicle on the southbound shoulder, and continued off of the roadway striking several trees before coming to rest on its passenger side. Landry and the right front seat passenger, Reggie Daigle (W/M, 33 of Pierre Part, LA.) was wearing seat belts and received moderate injuries. Landry was transported to Terrebonne Medical Center and Daigle was transported to Thibodaux Regional by Acadian Ambulance. Left rear passenger, James Davis (W/M, 56 of Plaquemine, LA.) and right rear passenger, Kerry Rodriguez (W/M, 46 of Plaquemine, LA.) was not wearing seat belts and received fatal injuries. They were pronounced dead at the scene by the St. John Parish Coroner’s Office. Alcohol and drug use is not suspected; however, speed appears to be a factor in the crash. Blood was drawn as per state law and results are pending from the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab. Chargers are pending and Troopers are continuing their investigation of the crash.
