TROOP A - NEWS RELEASE December 1, 2015 Driver Dies in Single Vehicle Crash in Livingston Parish Albany, LA – At approximately 07:30 am on December 1, 2015, Troopers from Louisiana State Police Troop A began investigating a single vehicle fatality crash that occurred on LA 442 west of LA 43 in Livingston Parish. The crash took the life of 49 year old Peggy Perry of Independence, LA. The initial investigation by State Police revealed that the crash occurred as Perry was traveling westbound on LA 442 in a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado. For unknown reasons, Perry’s vehicle crossed the center line and ran off the left side of the roadway. The vehicle began to overturn and came to rest off the roadway on the eastbound side. Perry was properly restrained but sustained fatal injuries as a result of the crash. She was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Livingston Parish Coroner’s Office. Perry’s passenger, 56 year old Steven Barnett of Ponchatoula, LA, was also properly restrained. He sustained moderate injuries as a result of the crash and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
