Edmonson, Superintendent TROOP C- NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release Date: August 27, 2008 “Gustav” Poses Threat to Gulf Coast; Troop C Reminds Preparedness is Key Louisiana State Police Troop C wants to remind everyone in the community that your local troopers are watching every movement and development of Tropical Storm Gustav very closely. While paying close attention to the possibilities of this storm, we need to remember the importance of being prepared. Louisiana State Police Troop C has begun its preparations to include: beginning talks with all resources that assist with storm preparation and making sure evacuation routes are clear in the event they are needed. Captain Darrin Naquin, Commander of Troop C, stated “Troop C has begun its initial preparations, and the citizens of the Troop C area need to have a plan in place and should soon be finalizing those plans. We are well prepared to handle an evacuation, but it will take a collaborative effort from everyone in the community to ensure it goes as smoothly as possible.” For information regarding items to include in your Emergency Prepareness Kit, go to www.getagameplan.org.
