Edmonson, Superintendent TROOP C- NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release Date: August 28, 2008 Unrestrained Man Ejected and Dies in Single Vehicle Crash in Schriever, LA On Thursday morning sometime between 3:50 AM and 6:00 AM, a single vehicle crash claimed the life of a young Houma man. Louisiana State Police Troop C was notified of a crash on LA 24 North at approximately 6:30 AM in the front of the Schriever Fire Station. A 2001 Chevrolet Malibu was traveling north on LA 24 at a high rate of speed when it entered a left curve. The driver, Mitch Gregoire, 23, of Houma, ran off the right side of the roadway, went into a ditch, and struck a culvert. The Chevrolet traveled through the air, struck another ditch, and then struck a utility pole before coming to rest.
