Edmonson, Superintendent TROOP C- NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release Date: November 13, 2008 Single Vehicle Crash Leaves One Man Dead in Lafourche Parish Larose- On Thursday morning, November 13, 2008 at approximately 7:15 AM, Louisiana State Police Troop C responded to a serious injury crash on LA 24 between Larose and Grand Bois, LA in Lafourche Parish. A 2000 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by Mitchell G Rick Jr. (W/M, 25, of Robert, LA), was traveling northbound on LA 24. For unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed the centerline and exited the roadway to the left where it struck a phone box and several trees head-on. Acadian Ambulance transported the driver, Rick, who was the sole occupant in the vehicle, to Chabert Medical Center with severe injuries. Rick was wearing his seat belt and the vehicle’s airbags were deployed. Alcohol use is unknown pending blood analysis, but it is not suspected. Rick later died at the hospital. Tpr.
