| LOUISIANA STATE POLICE COURTESY LOYALTY SERVICE Colonel Michael D. Edmonson, Superintendent TROOP C- NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release Date: January 30, 2009 Meth Lab and Child Porn Found in Raceland, LA Raceland- On January 29, 2009, Louisiana State Police troopers from the Houma and Lafayette Criminal Investigations sections, along with the assistance of Troop C, investigated anonymous information received about child pornography and narcotics manufacturing at a residence in Raceland, LA in Lafourche Parish. Troopers received information that Blake Trosclair was downloading and distributing images and videos of child pornography at 404 St. Anthony St. in Raceland, LA. Troopers received a search warrant for the residence. At the residence, troopers located Blake Trosclair, Mark Trosclair and Ryan Zeringue. During the search warrant, troopers discovered a functioning methamphetamine laboratory inside the residence. Because of the hazardous materials associated with a methamphetamine laboratory, Louisiana State Police Hazardous Materials Section and the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality responded to assist in identifying the many chemicals present and to make the scene as safe as possible to process. A clean-up company through the United States Drug Enforcement Administration also responded to the scene to remove any contaminated materials for disposal. Once the scene was made safe enough to process, troopers located a large amount of computer equipment including computers, hard-drives, and media storage devices. Troopers also located child pornography at the residence. The videos and pictures will have to go through a forensic analysis to determine and verify that it is child pornography. Once the analysis is complete, additional charges will be filed. During interviews with the three suspects, all admitted to involvement in either methamphetamine production or distribution. According to Zeringue, the laboratory had been operating for about one month. Troopers also discovered that Zeringue was in possession of a small amount of marijuana. All three subjects were arrested for Operating a Clandestine Laboratory and Conspiracy to Distribute Methamphetamine. Zeringue was also charged with Possession of Marijuana. Senior Trooper Craig Rhodes of the Louisiana State Police Criminal Investigations Division in Houma stated, “The Louisiana State Police has been and continues to be very proactive in criminal investigations in which our children are exploited and put in harm’s way. These types of complaints are given our highest priority, and we encourage the public to report any incidents of child abuse or drug activity to the Louisiana State Police Criminal Investigations Office at (985) 876-8834 or to their local law enforcement.” Contact Information: TFC Gilbert Dardar Jr. Public Information Officer Louisiana State Police - Troop C Office: (985) 857-3683 Cell: (985) 855-0241 Gilbert.Dardar@dps.la.gov WWW.LSP.ORG | |||
