Edmonson, Superintendent TROOP C- NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release Date: December 26, 2008 Pedestrian Struck and Killed by Hit and Run Driver in South Lafourche Galliano- A man was struck and killed by an unknown southbound vehicle on LA 3235 just north of the Galliano Wal-Mart at approximately 7:05 PM on December 26, 2008. Anyone knowing any information at all about this hit and run fatality crash should call Troop C at (985)857-3680. Dwain Carrell (W/M, 55, of Cut Off, LA) was removing debris from the left southbound lane of LA 3235 when he was struck by an unknown southbound vehicle. Carrell was pronounced dead at the scene from injuries he sustained from being struck. A minimal amount of physical evidence was recovered from the scene, but anyone having any information regarding this hit and run should call Louisiana State Police Troop C as soon as possible. Senior Trooper Louis Toups is continuing his investigation and more information will be released as it becomes available.
