Edmonson, Superintendent TROOP C- NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release Date: December 11, 2008 UPDATE 9:30 AM Winter Weather Driving/Road Conditions in Troop C Area Troop C- The Veterans Memorial Bridge and the Sunshine Bridge are now both open again. Beware that there are lots of sand mixed with slush on the road but the bridge is passable at this time. Both bridges cross the Mississippi River. The Des Allemands Bridge on US Hwy 90 has just been closed due to ice on the bridge. This will stop the flow of all traffic on US 90 from St Charles Parish to Lafourche Parish. As more information becomes available, it will be passed on. Please refrain from driving in this weather if you can. Don’t go out in this weather just to sight see. Roadway conditions can deteriorate rapidly and it is just not safe to be on the roadways if you can avoid it.
