Edmonson, Superintendent TROOP C- NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release Date: August 7, 2008 18-Wheeler Fully Loaded with Cold Produce Overturns in Lafourche Parish On Thursday, August 07, 2008 at approximately 2:50 AM, Troop C troopers were notified of an overturned 18-wheeler on the on-ramp to US 90 eastbound in Lafourche Parish. An 18-wheeler, driven by Elijah Kraemer, 23, of Gray, LA, was attempting to enter the U.S. 90 eastbound on-ramp (right curve) to New Orleans from LA 182 when it overturned onto its left side and slid to a stop. The 18-wheeler was fully loaded with cold produce. It took several hours to offload and upright the truck. The roadway was re-opened shortly after 9:00 AM. The 18-wheeler belongs to Performance Food Group on LA 316. The driver was transported to Terrebonne General with minor injuries and was later released. He was charged with Careless Operation.
