| LOUISIANA STATE POLICE COURTESY LOYALTY SERVICE TROOP C- NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release Date: March 25, 2008 Media and Public Invitation Troop C’s 4th Annual Open House Captain Val Penouilh (Commander, Louisiana State Police Troop C) and Troopers from Louisiana State Police Troop C cordially invite everyone to the 4th annual Troop C Open House. The Troop C Open House will be held on Saturday, April 5th from 11:00 am until 3:00 pm at the Troop C headquarters in Gray, LA. Louisiana State Police Troop C is located at the intersection of LA 24 North (West Park Ave.) and US 90. Many citizens only know one aspect of State Police, seeing the trooper on the side of the road investigating crashes and writing tickets. This will be an excellent opportunity to see the many different sections of State Police. Different sections from within the Louisiana State Police will be in attendance to show the equipment which is used, plus several demonstrations will be performed. Those different sections slated to attend include our Hazardous Materials/Explosives Section (which will include the bomb robot and bomb detection K-9), S.W.A.T. (including a static display of the various equipment utilized), Narcotics, the Training Academy’s Recruiting and Applied Technology sections the State Police Mobile Command Center, and Troop C’s K-9 unit. Troopers will be conducting tours of Troop C and different police vehicles, such as the Troop C Crown Victoria and Camaro. You will also have the opportunity to learn about the history of Troop C, as there will be past uniforms and memorabilia on display. A certified car seat technician will be available to inspect child safety seats and troopers will also be taking fingerprints and DNA samples of children. The samples will be given to the parents for safekeeping should they be needed in the future. The Troop C 4th Annual Open House is open to the general public.
