| LOUISIANA STATE POLICE COURTESY LOYALTY SERVICE TROOP C- NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release Date: March 26, 2008 10 Arrested During Joint Agency Round-Up On March 26, 2008, the Louisiana State Police Special Crimes Unit and Insurance Fraud Unit along with the assistance of the U.S. Secret Service arrested 10 people during a warrant round-up in and around the St. Mary Parish area. The thefts resulted in the loss of nearly $50,000 dollars to area banks. In early January 2008, the Louisiana State Police Special Crimes Unit began an investigation into an alleged check kiting ring operating in and around St. Mary Parish. The investigation revealed Alicia Kelly, Nicole Hillebrandt, Celeste Francis, Shondra Jordan, Antoinette Webb, Donmetric Singleton, and Lectoria Grogan are principles in schemes to defraud Teche Federal Bank in St. Mary Parish. The schemes involved these individuals issuing worthless checks and several different types of bank fraud. The investigation also revealed Bridget Skinner issued multiple checks from her Teche Federal Bank account, all of which were found to be NSF. The investigation also revealed that Bettina Duval altered a check she received from someone else. Issuing worthless checks, opening accounts from fraudulent checks, or any other type of bank fraud will not be tolerated and will be prosecuted accordingly. Persons arrested and charges: 1. Celeste Francis (B/F, 32, of Morgan City, LA) Charged with Bank Fraud and Theft 4. Shondra Jordan (B/F, 32, of Jeanerette, LA) Charged with Bank Fraud, Theft, and Issuing Worthless Checks 5. Antoinette Webb (B/F, 30, of Morgan City, LA) Charged with Bank Fraud 6. Donmetric Singleton (B/F, 30, of Amelia, LA) Charged with Bank Fraud 7. Lectoria Grogan (B/F, 20, of Morgan City, LA) Charged with Bank Fraud (2 cts) and Theft 8. Bridget Skinner (B/F, 34, of Morgan City, LA) Charged with Issuing Worthless Checks 9. Bettina Duval (W/F, 33, of Amelia, LA) Charged with Monetary Instrument Abuse (altering a check) 10.
